Tranny input shaft lube?

What do you guys use to lube the input shaft where the throw out bearing rides/slides?

To be perfectly honest....I didn't!!!! I greased the flywheel pilot bearing with some synthetic Valvoline grease, but I do not recall putting any lube on the guide tube!!! Huh, I wonder if this means a failure of some sort is in my future!!! LOL!

actually, you may be safe b/c you didnt. I did and that very well could explain why I am having an issue. I seperated the engine from the tranny, but have to wait for my bro in law to drop off my saw so I can get some more height on the body. I havent seen any issues yet. the oil breather definately made a nasty mess though.

I use a moly grease (Swepco I think) on the tube and in the pilot bearing and antiseize (not much though) on the splines (Optimoly HT I think).
You do not want to use moly grease where it will get spun/flung onto the clutch. I don't know if Optimoly antisieze has moly in it but it's wicked sticky (unlike normal grease).
I have to go now but I'm sure this stuff is in the factory manuals.
