JB Racing Twin Plug Distributor

Mine arrived today, they were very helpful and shipped immediately. Parts were all carefully packaged and arrived very quickly.

The distributor looks very well-made. The surfaces are all smooth, clean and oiled where appropriate. Wiring and connectors are of very good quality. The engraved and stenceled labels are all crisp and clear.

The HT connectors appear to be aluminum, I only note this as most dizzys I've seen use copper or gold. I haven't opened up the unit.

Lots of instructions were included, along with additional connectors and wiring. The instructions include engineering drawings, detailed setup and troubleshooting notes. They also included a set of advance ramps to be used when adjusting the advance. I had mine set to 20 degrees as that approximated the EFI curve I had been using.

Looking forward to firing it up, as soon as the DR cams arrive.

This is going into a hotted-up 3.0 that's being transplanted from my track car into the street car, just in time for Targa Tasmania!

Engine is based on RoW 3.0 SC
Heads blended
40IDA3Cs 34 Vents 60 idles 165 mains
SSI's
11:1 JE Pistons
Tensioners, valve springs, etc
Mild boatailing
Twin-plugged with MSD and blaster 2 coils

Exhaust TBD, either a factory sport (have), a flowmaster 2-into-2 (have, loud!) or maybe something new...

Cams are something special from DR.

In this...

Ran a JB in my 2.5L all last season, no issues.
Bought another for my 2.0L for this season.
Nice piece

I purchased the JB racing distributor two years ago. Will be firing it up for the first time this spring. I have been very pleased with the service from Mike Bruns @ JB Racing.

I have heard this comment once before but I don't see that it is a valid comment. Whoever has made the comment I hope they will explain the reasoning behind it.

I think it has to do with the plastic it is made of and the cotacts but again no first hand experience

Wow, why such a range? $1295, 1995, 2195, $2300.
Is there a difference. I am ready to buy and more confused than when I started??

Any experienced advise?

some go for the original look some go for the ease of the JB design. I only have personal experience with the supertec one. Mine is not the gen2 3rd bearing design but does have the correct high quality cap and rotor. The gen 2 has a 3 bearing up to to prevent the rotor from spitting out the side of the cap like many of the andial / gen1 desgins did. I also wanted boost retard which is contorled by the vacum advance.. give me a call if you like I can tell you my personal experiences if you like 2623647426

also not familiar with the twin dizzy's at 1295?? the rest are fairly close and I know there is room in there to negotiate..

I wil say I checked with Henry @ Supertec first because of his longstanding support of this forum and help he has given me and others in our projects. At the time (and this may have changed) he did not have a counter-clockwise version for my 3.0 SC case and intermediate shaft.

Mike from JB has aso been very forthcoming with help and support on this forum.
