Exclamation Colorado Pelicans - I need your help!

Yes, it's a needle-in-a-haystack search, but I'd like to locate the original engine/case from my 1972 911T. It isn't anything special, other than it came out of my car and I still have the number matching transmission.

Specifics: type 911/51, number 6121036. Last known location was Denver Colorado, at Rennenhaus, the shop owned by Grady Clay, sometime in the mid-70s. It was likely used as the base for another engine built around the same time.

So, when you're at the track in 2008 looking at cars in the paddock (particularly those early 911s and 914s) and peering into engine compartments, check the engine number.

How's that for a challenge?

There are a lot of old long noses around these parts, especially '72 models for some reason. You might get lucky with your request. YMMV

Greg has been on this quest for several years now. I have been looking at all the engines I see. I’m pretty sure the engine went in an earlier 911 and was still configured as a stock ’72 911T. Unfortunately Norm M. threw away all my records in the early ‘90s.

It would be great to get the original engine back available for the car.

Best,
Grady

Hi Greg, A friend purchased a 2.4T motor a couple of months ago in the Denver area and I helped him pick it up. I went through my email correspondence and it's number 6539077 so it's not even the right year let alone the right SN. It was worth checking though - good luck on your continued search!

John
