Window Tinting in the Bay Area, CA

			Hey guys,

I brought this up a while back but I can't seem to find the post and I'm ready to tint my windows. Can someone recommend a good place in the San Jose-Santa Clara area? I've been to one place already and they want $450 to tint. Is this reasonable? I forgot the name of the place, they are somewhere in Campbell. Thanks! |

If upi don't mind a drive to San Ramon, try Henry at Tinting Wrokz (925-831-2846). He has done several cars for me including two 911s. A quality job at a reasonable price.

What does 70% tint look like? I recommend these guys. Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Bay Area, CA Posts: 183 Call Tints R Us and talk with Juan. I have had 3 cars window tinted by him and he does a great job. The price was right and he's mobile. I recommend doing the same percent all the way around (except windshield of course). Looks nice with the same percent on all windows. 559 Washington St San Jose, CA 95112 Phone: (408) 971-7009 |

Paul, there is a guy who does tinting in my neighborhood, and did mine. I think he charged me $125 for all three rear windows, and guaranteed the work forever. I can get a name and number if you'd like, and you're welcome to check out my windows as a reference. I have been extremely pleased with them. The drop in cabin temp is amazing.

California Auto Tinting & Polishing Inc. www.calautotint.com 130 E Sunnyoaks Ave Campbell, CA 95008 (408) 370-9399 He charged me $300 for a wagon with the front windows. My other buddy gave him a cash offer of $250 and he did his wagon. $450 is too much unless you get the Huper Optik tint, which is cermanic (I believe). The tint place listed below is much cheaper ($175 range), but I like the place in Campbell better. Preferred Images 463 Brewster Ave., #3 Redwood City, CA 94063 |

Not in the Bay Area, but I paid $185 for all the windows in my one-ton Dodge MegaCab -- front two, two rear door and back window. Done two years ago, still good as new. Just had the wife's Camry done $185 for every window in the car (minus windshield, of course). $450 is crazy money. I'm in the Sacramento area.

I realize that I am a long way from the Bay Area, but I was quoted $219. out the door with a lifetime warranty not to fade, bubble, or peel. Sorry I don't recall the brand. This was for all of the windows except the windshield.

I paid $165 last week for all windows except the front on my 08 Camry. Lifetime warranty.

A tint warning, they did a different (non lifetime) tint on the rear window cause it has three antennas (AM, FM and satellite), in it and the guy told me my AM and possibly FM reception would suffer, a lot. Its due to some metal in the newer tints.
