Question 930 Front End Alignment-Opinion Requested

Less than 2,000 miles ago, a Porsche Dealership realigned my 930, for the technican claimed it was "way outta alignment". It was setup, again supposedly, for normal street driving. Since then, the car has only been street driven, but the front tires are so worn now, less than 4,000 miles total on them , less than two since realigned, that they need to be replaced. The inner 1.5" is almost to the cords.

Question: Would you trust a competent alignment technican, not familiar with a Porsche, but if had the specifications for the car, to align it properly ? The shop he works for has state of the art alignment equipment, but primarily works on domestic vehicles.

The Porsche dealership where it WAS aligned has done so much else poorly, that I don't feel like its worth the time to even return or complain.

Sounds like they gave you way too much negative camber. I would argue with them for a free, less aggressive, alignment. If they don't oblige, find a good performance shop in your area and have them do the alignment. I don't think just because they are a Porsche shop make much of a difference whether a car is aligned correctly. They would rather sell $500 brake jobs to those who know no better.

Absolutely. Alignment guys are much better at aligning our cars than "Porsche" guys.
