Weber Screw Question - Squirter

I am wondering about the Gas Squirter Screws on my Weber 40 IDA 3C carbs.

Attached are 2 photos .. The first shows the screws facing down as if they were installed in the carb bodies. The left screw Shows that the Ball is Lower than the hole, whereas the Right one the ball is covering the hole.

Positioned the opposite way to show the balls movement the Left screw shows that the ball is covering a very little of the hole and that the Right one is not covering at all.

So, Which Squirter Screw will work Correctly when in the carbs ? I figure that since the ball has that type of deviance that one must not be good.
