Zeniths on a 3.6

Hey all,
I'm trying to figure out if I can use my Zenith's on a 3.6. From my understanding this is a matter of figuring out the right venturis, jets, emulsion tubes, etc. I also understand MotorMeister says they supply them but have had no success contacting them. They won't reply to emails or telephone calls.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Dino

Plenty of RECENT threads on the subject. 40 Zs on a 3.6 may be a bit small for track use.....OK on the street.

As to why do you want to lose the 3.6 FI...that's another question. I have it on my SC/3.6 and it's pretty much idjut proof....

As to Motor schitzheadster....don't believe what ya read from those wankers....

A stock Zenith 40 will not work on a 3.6. You would need a 40mm venturi atleast. Thats the diameter of your actual throttle bore. You could machine the throttle bores to a 44 or 46, find new throttle plates and then install 40mm vents. That was quick math, but I'm sure I'm very close on that.

Consider your inability to contact them a blessing and move on....

If you are set on using carbs, look at PMO instead.

Zenith's in any configuration will be far too small for a 3.6; venturi's, jetting, accelerator pump volumes are just a few of the issues.

You need 46mm PMO's (or Webers in excellent condition) to see anything close to the potential of a stock 3.6,....

Zenith's on a 3.6

I'm trying to avoid using PMO's. I saw recently an ad to sell their business in Panorama.

On the Zenith's, from the research I've done, I really need to figure out what parts and sizes I need and then (jets, emulsion tubes, venturis, anything else I'm forgetting?) I should be able to have them fabricated. I'm expecting MotorMeister will not come through.

Also, need to figure out what manifold I'll use and how/where to source that.

IMHO,...there is nothing to worry about with PMO, its current owner and a potential new one. Its a VERY well supported product (far far better than most).

There is not a better carburetor for 911's than the PMO, hands down and I consciously avoid using old Webers or Zeniths unless vintage racing rules require such things.

JMHO, but I'd avoid MM at all costs,...............

You will need a pair of PMO manifolds for the 3.6 (3-bolt flanges) since they are the ONLY manufacturer of those items.
