Post Removing 3M Spray Glue

I'm just wondering if there are any products out there that remove old spray glue effectively. I'm removing the amp racks from my boot and the install shop had used it to hold on the carpeting.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thumbs up

Wow! Just today I bought a can of 3M super strength spray adhesive for headliners and carpet and asked the same question. 3M also makes adhesive remover. Bought a can. It has a small plastic squirt nozzle with a red cap taped to the top.

Good Luck

Acetone, thinner, paint remover, although they all are very effective and might remove some paint also

Their is a great product that is called "goo gone" it is for just this type of task!

As always test it in a out of site area first.

Goo Gone will be the safest. If it doesn't come out then try paint thinner. I just spent a few days stripping the soundproofing out of my 924 and i used both Goo Gone and Paint Thinner. the Goo Gone is nice because it is not as toxic. if you have to use Paint Thinner, use the odor-free stuff.

good luck!

My favorite glue and sticker remover is WD40. Spray it on the residue and wipe off with an old towel. You may need two or three applications before it's all gone, but the stuff works great. I just removed the vinyl roll bar covering using this meathod. It revealed 31 year old yellow paint that looked like it was sprayed yesterday. Now to convert the rest of my orange car to that color and quality.

A product called "Lift-Off" works good too. It comes in several different varients depending on what you're trying to get off.

I generally use charcoal lighter fluid. It's oil based and it won't remove the paint unless you rub really really hard.
