1st ORPCA autox YEEE! (pics)
Started early in the morning with an AX clinic which gave us 5 runs at a long slalom, 110' skidpad, and a 60mph threshold braking. Pretty good stuff although I though there might have been more instruction from the instructors. As you can see from the first pic, it started cold and super foggy, but the sun came out at about noon as the autox started. Long fast course with my times being in the mid 30's second and the best at 34.4. I can hear my car screaming for something better than street tires though. I'm thinking this was the cause of the stopping distances increasing instead of decreasing. Any thoughts. (technical part
 )A great day to start off the season and a couple of friends participated in their first autox with an 08 Subie STI and Lexus IS350 which both did really well.       Tis the season for dropping the hammer!

The number one reason I own my 911 is to autocross. Our local club (War Bonnet Region) has already had two autocrosses this year. Next weekend is the next one. We do it on the 2nd Sunday every month all year long. We have a fantastic site, it is the local county training center. It is a road course and it is great. The most fun you can have in a Porsche with your clothes on. We only charge 15 bucks for 8 runs!

Hopefully I will be there. I will not be at the next autox because we will be in Maui.
Paul you've gotta get to one of these autox events, or do a DE with me. I'm planning on doing my first DE this year.

Definitely. I was advised by Harry D to try an AX before DE- so maybe I'll try to make the next AX then go from there? I just ordered a load of brake parts (new pads, lines and fluid, plus I need to get my rotors turned). Hope to have that project finished before the end of the month. Cheers, Paul.
