Fan on a 28 tube brass oil cooler?

I came across a 6.5" Spal pusher fan and was wondering if anyone has tried this(or similar) on a 28 tube brass oil cooler? Temps currently are fine but if someone have seen any benefit to this addition, it might be worth trying. Thanks.

Thanks J.W. Would it matter which side of the cooler to mount the fan?

I did it. It helps when idling or moving slowely, but at full speed it does nothing.

Thanks John. How did you end up attaching the fan to the cooler?

long and thick zip ties will work well on the tube unit.

I used zip ties on my 7.5" Spal. Additionally, I ducted the bottom of the oil cooler to improve air flow effeciency, also used zip ties to secure duct and insure that I can remove it easily if needed.

I've never seen a cooler that looked like yours Alan. 28 row units are tubes only. What's the story behind it?

Thanks Alan. I have never seen an oil cooler like that either. What kind is it and did you see much difference with the duct work? It looks like a good idea. Thanks for the photos. Do you use a manual switch to activate the fan?

Is it pushing or pulling?
