WTB: 89 Carrera

Hey guys/gals, looking for an 89 Carrera in guards red.biege interior. Low mileage with LSD. with or without spoilers. No paintwork. I know this maybe a bit picky but i have hope. Any leads would be helpful.

Thank you

Rey

Please add your location to your profile so we know where you are. How much do you want to spend? How far are you willing to travel? Have you searched the classifieds here and at Rennlist? Have you tried Autotrader and Craigslist?

Good luck with your search,

Paul.

Just curious why only looking for an '89...aren't they effectively the same as a '87 and '88 or are you just looking for the last of the "Carrera" series?
Good Luck in the search.

The infamous G50 clutch bearing support wasn't fixed by the factory until April 88 production....an 89 is a v. nice example of the 3.2 breed.....

1989 3.2!

I absolutely agree with Wil. This is not based on any hard data--just my personal "take it or leave it" opinion--I think the 1989 is the best of a long line of post 1973 911s I've had. My current 911 3.2 Carrera is a Guards red August 1989 Cabriolet with the M491 Turbo Look option and a tan interior, and I absolutely LOVE it. I had a 1987 Cabriolet and it was not quite as good in my humble opinion, although I think it was a fantastic car too. I actually miss that car... They all are great cars, really. I just had a couple of transmissions issues with my 1987, but not a big deal at all. I really love the long hoods too. They feel a lot more nimble to me. I hope you find the car you're looking for, Wil!

Thanks guys for your input. I Would like an 89 because as others said it it the last of the 3.2 911 series. I'm leaning towards a coupe. Price? well that depends on the car. I looked at several cars online and none caught my eye except for one..which was sold by the time I called. It was an 89 guards red with factory spoilers, lsd, sport seats with red piping with only 36k miles. This car has become the benchmark in my search. While I may be looking for the unicorn, I stiil have faith that I will find the car that fits the bill( my fiance says "always buy what you absolutely love and not what you just like"). She is finally right at something..lol (she won't see this post..)
