cutting speed for lathe on PG bushings

Hi Souk and The,

Thanks for the interesting discussion on the PG bushings ;-).
(I'm an automotive engineer performing FEM-analysis on rubber (tires) so could run some simulations ;-)

I guess that both ways have there pro's n con's, however measuring my front clamps for the A-arms wiv digital caliber shows that they are quit round. 50.4 mm. and perpendicular to this value I measured 50.3.
I figure that the flow of material into the direction of the bolt holes of the clamps will be negligible, however I don't have any material data like E-modulus and viscoelastic data like tan.delta....

Now my question that both of you hopefully can answer. What is the cutting speed (rev's /min.) for the machining of the PG bushing material?

Regards,
Bart

I'm not Souk or The, but I cut plastic rather fast. You don't want to cut deep and slow where the plastic gets hot and rebonds to the cut. Shallow and fast would be my choice.
