Idle adj / mid range hesitation issues – Webers? (Denver)

Hi, I have a 1971 2.2 with stock P&C’s (we think ) and Webers. The car is in Denver (5280’)

Cam – Unknown at this time
Idle jets – 55’s
Mains – 120’s
Venturis – 27’s
CO% 3.5% - 6.0%
HC 6-800ppm

The timing is good, valve set unknown, plugs new.

The car has a heavy hesitation at mid throttle and the idle cannot be adjusted between ~700RPM (Dying) and ~1700 RPM.

Does anyone have any recommendations, does this sound like a float sticking issue maybe? Any other thoughts?

I have just ordered (Wayne’s) rebuild kits & float gauge and am planning on rebuilding the carbs this weekend. Does this seem a good place to start rather than a valve set….

Thanks
Sam

Hi Sam, Are you sure the venturi's are 27mm? I think they should be 30mm, and 32mm for an S model. I'm not saying that it's the problem, only that it struck me as odd. My book says a 2.2"T" or "E" model would use:

Main venturi-- 30
Main jet-- 125
air cor.-- 180
Idle--55
Emulsion tube-- F26

These are just guidelines provided by PMO
