Red face 911 wires

hi have 1981sc put new wires and would not start back fired and run for 2sec sounds like not run on 3or4 piston, line up #1 and rewire same geting gas help

sounds like you haven't got the plug wires properly connected to either the cap or the plugs..I mean if your positive you have the routing correct, it could only be a couple of things...A good way to double check is to pull the plug out still connected to the wire and check for spark,,repeate on every cyclinder and you'll most likely find you problem..

New wires are very firm and sometimes you think they're totally connected but they aren't...happens all the time..

Anyways, ensure your plug wires are on the distributor correctly in firing order sequence, double check to ensure the ends are attached to the plugs properly I think it is clockwise from 1-6-2-5-3-4 check the little gold label in the engine compartment for reference. If its a motor from a 78-79 it will be counter clock wise.
