Caliper question, turbo brakes...
Im sure this has been covered here and I looked, searched but want to make sure. The calipers from a 91 965 or 91 964 turbo--are these the same as regular 964 calipers or are they like the earlier 79 to 89 type 930 calipers? and what does it take to use these on an SC?? Are they the same as S4 928 calipers? Are they considered big reds, or blacks?? and lastly, how do these rank on the scale of best upgrades for the 911?? I found the 964 calipers on Bill Verbergs site but didnt see the 965 turbo calipers mentioned after 1989 type 930 calipers. If anyone knows what the value of these are worth would be appreciated too. TIA

they use thsame pads and pistons as the 928S4 and 993 front and are essentially the same body w/ 1 big difference, the built in spacers to move the caliper ~9mm further from the axle to accomodate 322mm rotors instead of 304mm rotors. '78-89 930 calipers are a very different older design unrelated to the later painted Brembos 964t calipers front and rear are different from 964 calipers you could use them on a 911 w/ appropriate caliper adapters and 322mm rotors, but you wil want at least 17" wheels, the 304mm rotors w/ 993 calipers can be fitted in 16" wheels
