Flares with no Ducktails
Wondering if there was a model produced with early Carrera RS style flares but no ducktail? I know the S-T was sans DT but wondering if it was done with the smaller flares? I really like the look - just curious.
Oh, and if you have pics of RS flares and no ducktail, post em up! |

in starkey's r rs rsr book, he has an index of all of the RS models - a few of them were ordered with the ducktail delete - even less were ordered with CIS injection!!! check out the book - hope this helps - brad in sea

Porsche built a tail-less RS during the pre-production development. This was back when they were considering badging it as a 2.7 911S, instead of a Carrera RS. There are photos of this car floating around, as Porsche photographed it, presumably for a brochure. Not a bad look, in my eyes.

Any SC or Carrera without a tail will give you an idea of RS flares without a tail.

Okay, here is the entire Hooligan:

I have a whole bunch, but I’m unable to upload them even though they are way below the size limit. Any ideas through the phone?

the real RS flares are edged differently than those of a SC/Carrera.
the SC/Carrera flare edge is narrower than the RS. some even say that the measurement from corner of rear side window to bottom edge is shorter of an RS compared to a SC/Carrera. But in my opinion it is within the factory tolerance as we all know that these 911 were welded together without laser measuring and often found off-measurement left to right side.
