Anyone know what these Recaro's are out of?

Didn't have any luck searching, but I got these seats with my "project" and I'm wondering if they are even out of a Porsche? BMW maybe? VW? :P

The trash can? They look pretty hammered...

My vote goes for early 80s Bimmer or VW.

Aftermarket Recaro "Concords" I think they were called.

Back in the late 70's early 80's I bought a pair from a Recaro distributor for my VW Beetle - but lots of guys bolted them straight into their Porsches. The base bolt spacing is identical to the seats for a SC, so they make a good upgrade. Beware though, they are a little on the heavy side.

Those are old aftermarket Recaro "L" seats. They did put those in the BMW 320is but the stitching was a little different, standard headrest, and a small BMW Roundel decal on the side. Those are the Recaro net headrest that you have there. The VW ones had totally different upholstery and didn't have the adjustable thigh support. hth

I had a set of factory Recaros in my 1980 Mustang. They were a houndstooth pattern with the net headrests. They were also available in the Capri, TBird and Cougar.

Agree with sixgt: standard aftermarket Recaros, but they have been reupholstered.

These seats are very comfortable, IMO.

I've never seen those mounting bases...
