Aftermarket Air Box..Mixture Adjustment ?

I have read many posts about the cold surging idle is related to idle mixture. the Bentley shows a pic of inserting a long 3mm allen to make the adjustment. I thought I'd go look for the adjusting screw and found this:

And it looks like the adjustment screw is this guy here:

But it doesn't look like an allen from the top adjustment, but more like a tiny sawed off flat screwdriver and an open end wrench.

If this is indeed the adjustment, would I turn the screw back out counterclockwise to go leaner a bit?

Or am I even looking at the right place?

That ain't it!

You can't see it, but it's located in a hole in that narrow valley between the fuel distributor and the rubber boot. You just have to have faith and stick your allen in that dark area and when it finds the hole, it just falls in and finds it's way into the allen screw. Voila!

I hope your allen is long enough!

Cheers,

Joe

found the secret hole! got a long 3mm and I think I may have moved it. the idle changed a little. But I'm not sure if I even got to the adjustment bolt. Test drive and we'll see.

Now that you found it, you will, no doubt, find any excuse to get into it just for the pleasure of making the slightest adjustment.

What's that alloy assembly on the left of the Airbox platform.
A different type of Pop Off Valve?

With the Tip of the "L" faicing you, think "Left Lean and Right Rich". When they are stumbling they are usually rich! take your time and get the allen in the adjustor screw and looking at the engine from behind, push the end to the left! You can do this while the engine is running but remove it before you blip the throttle!
