Custom A/C Questions

I am customizing the A/C on my 79' 930. I have a couple more questions on stuff to buy before I am done. So far I have converted to the rotary style a/c compressor ( i have both a sanden 508 and stock nippo set up), I have the stock front condenser, performance aire underbelly condenser, rear fender fan assisted condenser, no decklid condenser. I had planned on using the jim sims subcooler as well. I do not see where I could mount this on my 930 though. Does anyone have any pictures of this thing in place? I saw a picture online on a older car with it mounted by the steering rack but when I pulled off my skid plate it didn't look like mine has as much room.

Secondly I am unsure how to route and size the custom barrier hoses I will need. Are the hose sizes standard? Also does anyone know a place in denver that can put the ends on these hoses?

check with Rennaire. I know they have a Barrier Hose replacement kit for 911s and they may be able to custom fab some hoses for you.

I have found that most of the new barrier lines will have to be made to specs based on your individual application. Most of the larger parts houses can make up the hoses to your exact specs, and with the type of fittings that you require.
It is true that there are some"kits" available, but you may still have to do some custom fab work.

Right I plan on having them made custom to my car. I am unsure on what sizes to use though.

Here is a picture of my system, I am see how to route a few lines as shown, but what about to the rear condenser and the other side of the front condener?

mdurbahn, an easy way to get very close measurements for all of the hoses that you will need, is to go buy one of the cheapie, garden hoses, and use it to cut your templates from. That way you can have the hoses routed just how you are going to need it to be, zip-tied in place. Then you just have to make sure of what fittings you are going to need. Good luck!! Tony.

The latest and greatest barrier hose is called ECO-FRIGO hose, made in italy.
It has a teflon barrier inside of the hose, We use steel ECO-FRIGO fittings which have
'O' rings on the fittings where they go into the hose. Which helps with the leakage that
occurs with R-134A refrigerant, due to the smaller molucules in R134 as compared to R-12.
The hose and fittings are not expensive as you may think and can be purchased from a
transport refrigeration dealer, such as Carrier Transport Refrigeration, your local dealer
would be Denver Radiator ph.# 303-297-0355. They will also have the equipment to
make the hoses up for you. You more than likely will have #8- 13/32" (10.5mm ID x 18.8 mm OD)
and #10 - 1/2" (12.7mm ID x 21.5mm OD) hoses on your vehicle. You won't be sorry.
