squeaky right rear wheel

I have suddenly developed a squeak in my right rear wheel. The squeak-squeak sound increases with speed (tire rotation), is loudest when turning right, but goes completely away above 5 mph. Braking also ends the noise. I have checked the pads and rotors which are fine.

Any suggestions would help as I'm about to attack my rear suspension (new shocks, bushings, t-bars, and Elephant monoballs) and while I'm in there I'd like to take care of this, too.

Sounds like a rear wheel bearing about to colapse or a CV joint on its way out

Put the rear end on jack stands. Block the front wheels. Drop it in neutral and spin the right rear wheel. You might be able to isolate the squeak. Could be a wheel bearing, CV joint, brake caliper issue or something else, but you should be able to isolate it.

Thanks fellas - There is something else I should have mentioned in my initial post - the squeak only comes about after I've been driving for 5 - 10 minutes. So, by the time I park the car and get it safely up in the air, I cannot re-create the noise.... but I'll keep trying. I'll also have a look at the wheel bearings when I've got the suspension apart.

I have the same issue. The squeak only comes on when I turn right. It's more like "wee wee weee". It goes away under 5MPH or when coming to a stop. It's not reproducible with the car jacked up. The CV's look good. I don't have LSD. A bearing issue should be more of a growl. The car is an 89 cab.

I had that exact noise on a previous 911 I owned. It was a bad wheel bearing.

Don't forget the hand - emergency brake pads. Similar deal, made noise after driving for 10 minutes. Simple adjustment of the pads and the squeak was gone. The brake pads were dragging a tiny bit. Easy fix!

check for a warped rotor or sticky brake caliper piston

I have the same issue on mine. Pretty sure it's the wheel bearing, just haven't had the time to replace it. I replaced the brake pads and the rotor, calipers and e-brake are fine and I just had the CV boots replaced and checked.
