Cheap Bastard's Engine Stand
I'm getting ready to crack open a 915 and beef it up for use behind the turbo. Space is getting a bit crowded due to all the exhaust parts (not really a bad thing
![]() Simple and effective. A piece of 1/2" plate steel 3.5"x6" with a 2.5" ID thick steel pipe welded to it. Four 1/2" holes and we're done. I bolted it to the side of a supporting 4x4 with four lag bolts. You could hang a truck on this thing. I won't put an engine on it in this location but you could surely bolt it to a sturdy bench and have at it. Just an idea. Don't like it don't use it. ![]()

Very good. You know what else is nice about this?...you can hang it at "elbow height". Should make for a very comfortable working position either standing or from a stool. Perfect for transmission surgery!
