Finally took machine to 'The Pit' (an ind P-place), and they explained the emissions problem. Passes at idle with adjustment, fails at higher rpm. They ordered me a new air flow meter (not bad, 408 beans with tax).My question is, what would be the result on drivability if the air flow meter weren't working correctly, besides emissions problems and running rich?
Does it just meter air flow or control it. And if it just meters it, why the flap? ------------------ Kurt B '84 Carrera Cab. carrera_cabriolet@yahoo.com |

It measures (meters) the air flow, which controls the amount of fuel injected.
It is a basic part of your FI system, not just an emissions add-on that you can do without, like an O2 sensor. ------------------ Bill Krause '79 911SC Euro |
