Just strapped on some megaphones....
...and "Son of a Bi*#h", they sound great!!! It sounds like I am at a track where vintage cars are racing with no restrictions. I got my RSR clone about a month ago and it came with Supertrapps mated to custom headers and a 3.2l motor. It sounds really nice, but they are a little too "fat" to look vintage correct. I found some new megaphones on Samba for $80 and figured it was worth the test. They sound incredible at idle, accelerating as well as coming off throttle. They only quiet down on very light throttle. I guess I will ride them as long as I can until I get pulled over or a neighbor sticks a note in my mailbox

If you have a minute, could you tell us how much they weight, and how much the Supertraps weigh?

Living 100 yards from a winding country four-lane highway favored by loud-pipes idiots of all persuasions, two- and four-wheeled, I have reservations... It's cool if you can listen to it when you wish, not so cool when you have to listen to it all weekend long from May through October.

Definitely about half the weight, but neither weighs much. I will be able to weight the Trapps, but not the megaphones until I decide to switch them out again. My guess is around 6lb for the megaphones and @13 for the Trapps. Last edited by DougM; 04-01-2008 at 04:41 PM.. |

You guys must have some really lenient police. In Australia I doubt you'd get to the end of your street with megaphones on before someone called the cops! They are ridiculously loud! Too loud even for tracks here.

I have a supertrapp on my car and I think it fits on some of the rear ends but on yours the dual megaphones look great!

The picture is with the Supertrapps. The megaphones have a smaller diameter opening.
