caliper adaptor
got what i suspect are 944 turbo calipers, maybe the C2/C4 later 911s as well?
![]() ![]() looking to see if anyone has come up with an adaptor that is not included in a kit or by themselves running small fortune from the company that sells the kits. will be looking to go the carrera rotar route for more pad life and to give these my own try. i also am aware of guys who've just elongated the existing holes and ran them that way. anyone have a picture of a set done so i might judge for myself? some poo-poo that but ive known of guys racing with that set up w/o incident. not saying i will go that way, but would like to see it after its been done if possible. also aware of the fill and redrill, would do that if i could get a good pattern from someone with caliper off their car as i type... nudge, nudge, wink, wink.... thanx

wow thats pretty fancy there cigar! i was just considering a cleaning and rebuild to fit these recession laden times.. did you just take your old A calipers and kinda "center" the new hole pattern or is there some verburg trick this grasshopper needs to know about? what did it cost to get them holes filled? i do not melt much aluminum since i quit smoking crack some years back and will be required to take em to a welder. please, do tell what i should pay? seems thats the most economical way to move forward if the holes dont break me....
are you going with the turbo rotors or skimping like me and considering carreras? any upgrade to the rears ? new master cyclinder? 23 mm? still figuring this will require a MC even w/o my SC rears being touched. can you get em under 7x15 cookies or fuches? i am going through front pads 3 to 1 to rears, (ferodo 2500) and am looking to just upgrade a smidge and think i may try this fer a spell..... i am getting 4 track days out of the front pads as described above. no fade, no boil, no need for more, really just looking fiddle around some. TIA T$

I just machined some plugs at .482 and pressed them in, if I was to do it again I would have just bonded some plugs in or even just oval the holes. They are going on the front of an 86 Carrera with no other changes. These calipers have the 28/30mm pistons.. KTL is the master when it comes to calipers, he has forgotten more than I will ever know.

You say the calipers have 28 & 30 mm pistons and are replacing calipers with 48mm pistons?
Don't Carrera's have 48's front and 42mm rear? This would have less piston area than the 42mm rears. I can't see how this is a good idea. I picked up a pair with quad 28mm pistons and would only consider them for the rear. That is what yours and mine are originally for.
