2-3 second delay on start-up.
:confused:When I turn the key on my '81 SC, the fuel pump starts up and the dash flashes like normal, but the engine does not start to turn over for 2 to 3 seconds. This doesn't seem normal. Could it be a low batterey charge?? Cheers, Mike

any ideas??

I had the same issues with my 78 SC. It was a sign that the starter was going out. I replaced the battery and checked the grounds, etc. The starter finally wouldn't engage or crank, just click. Changed the started to a hi-torque model and never had another starter/hesitation issue. Cranks right away!

Check all wires and battery terminal for corrosion; open the connections and use dielectric grease. Check all ground connections, especially where the neg cable connects to the body. (It's hidden out of sight) |
Thanks. The car's up in the air right now for a steering rack freshen, so I might as well do it now. Cheers, Mike.
