Is there an easy way to get to the right rear shock? I have a new bilstien that is just dying to go on, but I can't get the old one off. If I remove the rubber air duct between the air meter and the throttle body will that give enough elbow room to get to the top bolt? Oh yeah, this is on an 81 SC...

Hmm, there should be enough room there without removing anything. Make sure that you use a flexible rachet, and you should be able to get in there...

I just put new bilstidns on my 87 911. I'm not sure if the cars are the same but I had to remove the aircleaner assembly. (don't know the correct name but it was all the black plastic pieces) It was kind of a pain since most of the bolts are hidden. Once all the plastic is out of the way, the upper shock mount somewhat easy to get to. On the right side, there are two large hose that get in the way a little.
