Thought I would bump this thread to see if the wiki launch date is any nearer.

Fingers crossed this project hasn't been canceled.

Peter,

For those of us who are less informed tell us how the form and substances of the Wiki works?

Thanks,

Mitch, don't get your hopes up. Peter hasn't posted since 2008, although I see he was online as recently as Oct 2009 after about a years absence.
I have a lot of stuff that needs to get online in a Wiki format however, so I'm hopeful that a time will come that this does get resurrected.

Wayne, the wiki doesn't need an editor. The community will do the
work, just as wikipedia has self organized so will the pelican wiki.
Build it and they will come.

It does if it's got the Pelican name on it. There's a lot of incorrect information floating around the Internet. The Wiki is still on the plate, but there are some more important projects that have gotten the nod prior:

- Boxster / 996 book & tech articles
- Expansion of MINI and Audi content (Peter's working on our Audi content right now)
- Full expansion of our new catalog (wait until you see it!!!!)
- Keeping up with our current sales growth (big double digits)

The goal is to put all of the tech content into a Wiki type format so that people can modify it. We went one step in that direction with the addition of comments at the ends of all articles, but there still needs to be a wiki type directory. I also wanted to make it very easy to use - I have not found a wiki that fits this. Also WYSIWIG, which is lacking in most products. I will redeploy some resources on this in 2010. Right now, we're all just swamped here...
