964 rear lens install

Has anyone got a picture of the rear of a 964 with the center lens removed? I'm working on installing one on my 911 and need to know how much of the rear end needs to be cut out.

Thanks!

If you don't get one in the next couple of days, e-mail me and I'll take some pics.

You have to be careful and not remove too much of the panel. They guy that cut mine for me did that and made mounting the 964 lense difficult. At the moment I can't remember how it looks and what the problems were but if no one gives you any images I'll remove the center lense and take them this weekend. I beliebe it was on the upper lip where the 964 lense screws attach.

You also have to build a base panel to protect the lense from engine and exaust heat. I melted the first one I did. Also, to keep the lens in place you need to purchase the three mounting brackets that the bottom of the lens slides into. Without them I found it difficult to keep the lens from slipping out at the bottom.

You also need to get some tubing and plumb an air system into the small air ports on the center lens and side lenses. I taped into the duct work leading from the fan to the heat exchanges on the right side of the engine. Porsche did this to keep the plastic from melting on the 964 and 993.

If you have access to PET, look at the 964 body and electrical for details.

Tried finding the 964 on the porsche website and it wasn't listed, just went to 1989 for the 911. Any pictures would be appreciated before I start drilling spot welds.

Thanks!
