89 3.2 Oil leak

I have a slow drip of oil coming from what appears to be somewhere around the top of the oil cooler. I had the cooler seals replaced last year. Don't think they should go bad that quick. What else could be leaking in this area?

Many things up there leak. Like oil pressure switch, thermostat o ring, and the breather hose.

+1. Not everything you see on the bottom of the engine originates there. These 3 that yelcab mentioned are on top of the engine closest to the firewall and above the oil cooler. Dripping oil runs down that end of the engine and in the vicinity of the oil cooler. They are hard to see with the airbox and throttle body obscuring what you need to look at. At the very least, to inspect, the complete airbox should be removed. You should clean the area then drive the car again. Re-inspect that area to determine which component is leaking.

Hi,

Was the problem found and cured?

I ask as I have just found a similar problem. Following a track day with “vigorous” cornering I have more than a few drips in the same location. I suspect the oil breather pipes, but have not had a chance to investigate fully yet.

Oil level started at the mid way point when hot, so overfilling was not the cause.

Mark
