April 26 - cars and coffee Irvine from San Diego
Anyone from San Diego interested in meeting for "cars and coffee" in Irvine April 26?
We could ride up together or meet there depending on schedule. For what I understand, you have to be there before 7 AM to be able to park with the rest of the cars on display. Once the show is over we could ride together. So far Doug (DW_SD), Jamie (luvndasun) and myself are planning on going. Please post if interested in joining. |

Well don't have too much fun, save some for in May or June. I get to San Diego county (for good) on 5/1. I'm hoping to make the hop up to check this event out as soon as possible.

I'm interested. As far as a meet-up spot, I think there's a Park and Ride off the 5 right at the 78 exit that should be pretty empty on Saturday morning.

To throw a wrench in it...
The Orange Coast region of the PCA is having a tour this coming weekend (4/12/08) that starts from Cars and Coffee. It is going up to Monrovia for a tour of 911 Design in Montclair. Tour should leave at 9:30am. It is an RSVP thing so if you are interested email lkas@thescreenpros.com immediately as they are trying to get the list finalized. It will be heading up the toll road so expect to need some dollars in your pocket.

Sheesh, even though I have to miss the 4/26 and now the 4/12 meets, the good news is I'm sure there will be more car events than I can dream of in my future!

Another good meeting spot is that Westmark gas station on the west side of I-5 at the Cannon Street exit in Carlsbad. I go to C and C often, get there early to get some good spots to park. Leaving Carlsbad at 6 AM sharp should be fine.

These are the possible locations so far for the early morning meet, if I tagged them wrong please let me know. The west mart gas station is appealing because we can get gas

Guys, I know that the 4/26 jaunt hasn't even happened yet, but can we try to set a late May or June date to do similar, or perhaps a drive somewhere? I can't wait to sample some of the local roads in Ruby, and meet some of you locals. If we at least pencil something in, I can work my travel schedule around it. Thanks!

SoCal70RSR - Thanks for the web site reference and localized map. I've been in San Diego more than 30 years and had never heard of the "Cars and Coffee" event. I vote for the Westmark gas station as the meeting place based on its amenities. Its 47 miles from there to the Irvine site, so leaving at 6:00 with even legal speed will put us there well before 7:00.
