New pistons are already on order. I see no other way. Oh well; isn't it the hardest (most expensive, in this case) lessons that stick with us the longest? As my mom would say, "I hope you've learned something from this..." If some one else can avoid all of this from sifting through my ramblings here, then maybe I'll feel a little bit better.
Steve and Grady, I've read all of your stuff on excessive deck height induced detonation. I guess I was just pining for a simple, inexpensive solution, but I knew better even when I posted it, having already gone through your comments. Anyway, parts are already arriving. The pacing item is the new pair of cylinders; they are about three weeks out. That's o.k.; I'm leaving for Mexico City any day now to provide tech support on a 767 repair. By the time I get home, all of my parts will be here. It will be nice to get out of town and be busy for awhile; taking my mind off of this for a bit. Hey RussianBlue, give me a call when you get the chance, like if you make bail sometime soon. There seems to be something amiss with your phone.
