Been lurking here since I started my hunt for a 87-89 Carrera. Finally found an 87 a year ago today down in the states. Had a PPI done and flew out for a 2 day drive back through 3 states. To mark the anniversary I swapped out the tranny oil w/ Royal Purple and gave her a good run. I've noticed that the rattle in the gearbox in neutral is now gone and hopefully the notchiness in first and second when cold will be gone too (I'll keep you all posted). I still have a few outstanding projects to do on her: 1) sort out the power locks 2) replace the broken sunroof cable 3) replace a ruptured a/c line and recharge the system 4) install a cat bypass (if Ben would get around to making one, please goto his site and let him know you're interested also). FYI she's a daily driver and has been out in -30c (that's damn cold in f for all you Americans). I've also done numerous road trips since I've gotten her (mostly through southern BC). The one thing that I've found with this car is that it's a total 'dick magnet' with random guys coming up to you to chat; women will only remark that it's 'cute' and think it's an impractical car, oh well, less weight, more speed. I guess the only thing left is to post some pics and admit I have a sickness...
