Sounds like a WUR problem, but it could be something else, so I wouldn't replace it without checking cold and warm fuel pressures with a set of CIS gauges like this: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/TOOL/POR_TOOL_CAT447_pg21.htm

is it normal for it just to turn off like that out of no where? if it is a valve leak.....because the car starts up fine, but right when i start driving it it dies out when i push in the clutch....if i keep my foot on the gas and shift gears it will stay on..its basically when i dont give gas and push in the clutch and the rpms drop and turns off

Not a valve leak, a vaccum leak. As long as I gave it gas it would run fine, no gas , it would just die.

So, just to clarify ... if you cold start it and drive off do you have to keep your foot on the gas when you use the clutch?

Or is this problem only happening when the engine is warm?

You should check for vac leaks. They can come on suddenly. Do you have an airbox popoff valve? Check that.

Quite often this is WUR related, so checking control pressures is a good idea, as was mentioned. Also, check the screen on the top of the WUR. This can get clogged.

If you raise the sensor plate while starting, what happens? Can you hear the injectors whine? Does it start from cold then?

I'm confused here. Are chrisp and supercarrera82 the same person?

Anyway, there is a small screen on the top of the WUR below one of the fuel lines. This can clog, resulting in a lean condition. You may also have a clogged fuel filter.

You need to go through the usuals: Check fuel pressures, check fuel flow and injector pattern, check spark, make sure your ignition parts are up to spec.

Why not contact MSD too and see what they say? If this just sudenly came on once the new CD was installed, then maybe that's it. Can you temporarily hook up your old CD? Or is it shot?

Wur....

WUR : Warm-up regulator. Located on the driverside of the motor and mounted between intake manifolds #1 & #2. It would help if you get some refernce reading materials like Bentley or Haynes.
