Odometer

On my 73 911 my speedometer works fine, but the odometer just stopped, as did the milage counter. That was this weekend during a rally when it happened. Today, Tuesday, both seemed to be working just fine. Is there anyway to rectify this permenently. It has happened twice and I beleive that there is a gear that might need to be replaced.

Marc,

Dont worry about it, just rack up the mileage and fix it just before you get ready to unload the car. Also you can get better rates from your insurance company if you tell them you are driving it 0 miles a year.

Stopping the odometer from running

OK Peace brah.

Well, now that we know the guy's name is Marc Weintraub, that idea is not going to work so well, snbush.

Wow. Impressed you found a post that was 10 years-old!

Oh, OK. I saw that one too. As Milt pointed out, too loaded of a question to be real.
