Shipping Insurance
OK, got the word the heads are ready to ship back from CE for my car but I have a question that I could not find addressed in a search. When I shipped them out it cost about $165 of which $110 was for the insurance. The quote from CE has shipping costs back to me of about what I paid, less the insurance. Here's my question...what is a shipper, say UPS, liable for if they tear something up or lose it? Did I wast $110 on insurance on the way out? I used $1500/head which amounted to $9,000 in insurance.
What is the recommendation from the board? TIA and can't wait to get this thing put back together...it's taken forEVER.

My understanding is that UPS covers the first $100 of damage or loss. After that, you're on your own if you don't purchase additional isurance.
If the parts are valuable, pay the insurance. It's good peace of mind. My $.02. Scott
