Hi
Where do I buy 285/XX-15" RSR tires in the US? No one seems to have them. |

I will get sizes for you tonight.
No wheels available. Only real tire options for the 285's are the hoosiers and the Michelin TB-15 withought going to a grooved non-DOT approved racing tire.

I think the hoosiers are 275/50/15 rears and the fronts are 225/50/15.
here is a pic of them mounted on the car.... ![]()

Nice car.
It has to be 285, it is for a RSR clone I have seen Yokohama AVS Sport tires, but they may not make them anymore. |

the 275 Hoosiers are actually a bit wider than the 285 yoks or the Michelins.
My car is an RSR clone... I have been down this road before and I know what works and what doesn't

The tire you are looking for is a 285/40-15. No longer available.
That size is 11.2" wide x 24.0" tall. 275/50-15 is a truck tire when compared at 25.8" tall. I used to run 255/45-15s on the front and 345/35-15s on the rear of my car. I have seen both for sale in the UK, terribly expensive at $650 per tire.

One would think that 275/50/15 is a truck tire...but that is what is on my car and it looks right. Yes, the 40 series are a lower profile but that is not what the RSR's had in '73. That is a tire that was developed in the early eighties for the countach and panteras. I personally think the 40 series look wrong on an RSR clone... just my 2 cents though.
345's usually rub on normal RSR flares and require widening them by 1" so they will fit with standard 11x15 fuchs. They may work with other types of wheels (BBS) that have a slightly different offset.

I said the 275/50 looks like a truck tire when compared to a 285/40.
No more, no less. And it does.
