is this chrome air cleaner original?????

this came with a set of IDS's I bought. is it an original porsche thing or an aftermarket. any info much appreciated. Don.

That appears to be a stock, early air cleaner housing (70's MFI?) that somebody had chromed.

how are you? hope all is well. My 67S had its air cleaner and heater ducts chromed when I got it. I think it was thought to be cool in its day. tom

looks like it may have been Jet Coated, not chromed. Hard to really tell though. It is OE though. Many have used JetCoat on exhaust parts, inside and out. Very durable stuff and great heat resistance, shiny too!

What year did they stop making metal? Mine is black plastic, not metal. It is sitting on a '72 "T" motor.
