seperating engine and trans of a 77

I have searched and read but can't get it just yet. I have taken off the 4 bolts including the starter. I know I need to drop the lever/spring at the bottom of the trans and have read that some need to take move the fork inside. Being a 77 2.7 do I need to do the interior part? How do I get to it? I know that I am close to getting them apart but am missing something. Thanks

just remove the short arm under the bellhousing and swing the long arm back so it's relaxed. no messing with the t/o bearing on this year.
