It depends on the direction of the final build.
If you are going for super lightweight...you are on the right track.
Or..if going for no possible rust...once again...good.
But...original...nope...and a lot of Pelicans worship original.

That's not a CF hood, it's CF-looking vinyl wrap, right?

""it's CF-looking vinyl wrap, right?""

Yes it is vinyl, not the real deal.

I thought Ide try it, vs having just the hood resprayed(rock chip's)

A coat of flat paint will cover that up nicely for a low glare racy finish.

I like it, as a start to an overall look.

I saw a black Cayman where the hood was wraped the same way and it look fantastic..

I'm surprised that it does not work as well on your/the older car/s... maybe to modern of a look?

It's on there now....run it for a while, maybe it is the start to an overall look.

I also would paint a CF hood as I am not a fan of that look, whether it is just the hood or the whole car. As a wrap, have fun with it. My hood at this time is flat black on a black car but only until paint time !

Not a fan of the CF look.

I painted my CF long hood for what it is worth. Let me tell ya those things are super light but strong.

Rice.

Would like to see more CF replacements for a load carrying 911 parts; not hoods, engine deck lids, rear electrical chassis covers, dash insets, etc.

Carbon fiber look but it actually ADDS weight?

Call it whatever you want, the answer is no in my book. It is the opposite of the whole point of carbon fiber.

I like the 'look' but they do look better on a lighter colored car - contrast. What the heck, you can change it anytime you'd like.

Not convinced of the black/CF combo either. (And wouldn't you know, my car is black as well...)

I did this a while ago.
It was originally white. Foil is cheaper than a respray)
Plan is to switch from time to time. (Between the whaletail and this)
Haven't installed it yet so no pics of how it looks.
