Remove SC flag mirrors replace with 993?

I guess I suck at searching. I can not find anything on replacing the ugly SC flag mirrors with something better looking. I have seen posts on it before but never had time to really review them. I thought a swap for 993 mirrors was somewhat common and that it was even a bolt on swap? Any info in this or a pic please?

PS..Maybe I have ADD but whenever I search for something I then get pulled in a million different directions and end up looking at everything (including bikini photos) except what I was supposed to be researching.

One of our members told me awhile back that the base of the 993 mirrors is smaller so you would end up with some paint work on your doors. So while I think the 993 mirrors look better I guess I'm not ready to go to that much work and expense and change the original look of the stock mirrors.

993 mirrors

I would remove the flag mirrors and check if there is any imprint left on your paint work. I have aero mirrors on my 81 SC and to see where the original mirrors were is very hard to notice, without looking for it and even then it is not really something noticable.

Here's another: tear drop mirror conversion

Based on this, you might want to search for "teardrop mirrors"

mirrors

my 75s had the flag mirrors, and i had to fill the original holes (welded them up) and drill new hole, acutally its not a hole but a rectangular opening about 3/8 wide and 1/2 inch long, plus there is a hole you have to drill for the dowell like pin coming off the base of the 993 mirror, was not that big of a deal for me since i had the whole car apart for a complete ground up restor, but it might be a job for you, if you have to do any welding and panting, (not saying your not compatant just letting you know you might be in for a job if sc flags mount the same a 75 flags i see some say stick with your flags, its just a matter of preferance, i like the aero mirrors (i have to, i paid 350.00 bucks for them) plus my car is a morfadite of every thing anyway, 75 targa with 993 fenders c2 bumpers and skirts, 82 3.0sc but i like it and dont care what anybody else thinks
