Carrera Script My Car...please
I want to put the Carrera script on the car but am not sure what color (black sounds so regular). And what should I do with the wheels?
Any Photoshop experts out there willing to help? Thanks. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1211382138.jpg |
IMO, think black would look best w/ the red.
White second. Green for Christmas time. |
black is my professional artistic opinion.
|
Red and Black are classic. The wheels look fine to me.

Your car looks great. Leave it.
That way you won't have to answer to the "Carrera script on an SC? No no no!" folks. edit: But, I too think black would be great. |
If you would like to change the color of the wheels (I like what I see), then the script should be the same color. No a lot of options for a red car, IMHO. I've seen blue, but that's pretty dicey. Maybe a midnight blue.

I say black script with the black wheels. |
Anyone make a black "Super Carrera" script? That would be 'different'. :)
|
I'm with Gogar, why put "Carrera" script on a non-Carrera Porsche. Great-looking Porsche just the way it is......
but if you must---black script. Wheels look nice. |

If you like a look for YOUR car, then why not do it? Most of us do mods because we want to either make the car better or just personalize it. Yes, the Carrera script originally came on the Carrera, but it has been installed on so many other cars, it has just become a "look" not a "look alike". ***My writing is not focused on any one person, just expressing my thoughts.*** |
Get the "Porsche" script in like a matte black. That would stand out and wouldn't get the poser comments. Thats what I plan on doing with my yellow car.

Hmmm... Gold. Really. I love the gold-on-red look on hot cars. I know I've seen it on 356's and early 911's for the metal badges. Maybe change them to match the new side scripts.
Or not! You should do what you like and not necessarily what is "correct". |

man that's a sharp looking car as it sits!

I don't understand these poseur comments. I've heard that "SC" stands for "Super Carrera". besides, if you look at what the 1974-1977 Carrera 2.7/3.0's were and the Carrera 3.2, then the SC fits into the model of what a Carrera is, regardless of whether it was actually called a Carrera or not. Just do what pleases you; it's your car.

This SC script in this thread is pretty Cool. IMHO

Just to keep you guys jabbering, I wanted to remind you all that a FEW people think SC stands for
"Sub-Carrera" or is it, "Sorta-Carrera"? Oh no, wait. It's "Slow Car", right? Oh geez I better shut up; I have one. Whoops. |

Excellence- August 2007
Poorsha;
If you can get your hands on a copy of Excellence August 2007 check out the long hood on page 104-108. It's a '73 RS that was originally speced out for Ferry Porsche. It was his personal car. The Carrera lettering was painted on using a screen of the original color Silver Green Diamond Metallic. If you can find a painter that understands under tinting utilizing grey and a complimentry shade of red mixed together and also knew how to really work an air brush your SC could really rock. The Guards Red is a stand out color and an understated but elegant Carrera Script would simply enhance the looks of an already great looking car. The wheels? IMHO- change nothing. Ventana |
