Dwell meter?

Anyone know a good source for a decent dwell meter (such as for use with points ignitions?)

There are a couple on ebay but I'm wondering if anyone still makes new ones - don't see anything in our host's catalog.

I'd try Sears. I got mine from them in 1972 and I'm still using it.

I don't know all the stores down there, but why not try Napa, Pep Boys, Autozone.

JC Whitney has that CIS gauge. Maybe they have dewll/tachs too.

Remember, you can always try calling PP to see about availability of items not listed in the catalog.

Try Craigslist. They used to be 'required' tools for tune-up. No longer. At least with C/L you can see before you pay.

You should be able to get one cheap. I got complete automotive scope for $100.

Jeff, I just picked up a CP7677 AutoTroubleShooter made by Actron off of Amazon.com. It does dwell, RPM, and is a voltmeter to boot. Read the reviews there - the price was $35.04. I am quiet pleased with mine. Build quality is great. The only "negative" is that it does not ship with a 9 volt battery. But the cheap batteries most vendors usually provide are near worthless anyway.

cheers,
Michael

update: forgot to mention that the owner's manual was well written and informative.
