Anyone Going to the St. Louis European Auto Show June 1?

I'll be there with my '86 Carrera. Convoying from Jefferson City with a couple of friends (356, 308 Ferrari). Hope to see some of the St. Louis people there.

I haven't even heard of it - I guess I am out of the loop.

What are the details - I should be able to get the car cleaned up by Sunday.

Kurt, I totally forgot about the show, but will be out of town.

Wavey usually goes, though. I have a co-worker who's the Ferrari club local Prez and he'll be there with his 550 Maranello... Usually a good showing of Prancing Horses.

Porsche attendance was not what I'd hoped a few years ago, but what was lacking in quantity was made up for in quality.

Thanks for posting Kurt. Probably won't make it due to graduation parties and airport pickups, but I'll try. Not to be a pessimist, but I bet it rains and they move to the rain date anyway, and it will rain then too Here's a pic from '06:

This is definitely the place to see the rarest cars you'll ever see in St Louis, unless you get in the back garage at Bentley or Hunter Engineering.

Someone in the Ferrari club let me see if I would fit in his Maranello and it became a car I had to have for about two weeks until I did some searching and came back to earth.

Kurt, Is your 86 in the show? I'll stop and say hi.

Look for the red '86 with these in the rear driver's side window:

Just got this update from the STL PCA region:

Quote:
I’m told that the event is sold out, with about 30 Porsches, 20 BMWs, 20 Ferraris and the usual assortment of Mercedes, Jaguar, Lotus, Maserati, etc.. The weather forecast looks good (should it rain, date is moved to 6/8), so come on out and join us on Sunday at Plaza Frontenac to show support for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children. More on the show can be found at: http://www.stleuropeanautoshow.com
When he says 'sold out' that is for participant spots only. Admission is FREE and there is no limit. (Although I'm secretly wishing for a rainout/reschedule so I can attend on the 8th)

Look what NOAA says about Sunday...

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. West wind between 3 and 8 mph.

Yep. Supposed to rain Saturday and Monday. Hopefully they are right about Sunday. I even plan to vacuum out the car before I head up there!

What time do you think you'll arrive, Kurt? I MAY be able to skip out for a few hours earlier in the day, but definitely tied up after about 11. Maybe we can catch each other?

Lol, yeah that's my rock chipped beat up 911 among all the pristine cars! Sorry I missed you.

As for the show, I will NEVER pay money to have my car in it again. They had 200 parking slots and sold 250 registrations. We get there and then find this out. So instead of getting a slot so I can set up some chairs and relax we get stuck, literally blocked in an aisle. Then all day long I hear them bragging about how 250 cars are there. At least 25% of the cars were from car dealers. Lots of collectible cars to look at, but next time I am parking in the lot across the street for free!

Wow, that's complete BS Kurt. I'm going to pass your comment along (anonymously) to the organizers.
They had some rather thin showing the first few years, maybe from no-shows? Maybe they're overcompensating? Sorry that happened.

I didn't make it due to being put on gardening duty - both daughters are getting married this summer and my wife is on a rampage to whip the property into shape. 911 sat in the shop all weekend
