air filter
new at this and before I start, are there any tricks involved in replacing air filter in my 86 carrera??

Just make sure you disconnect the flux capacitor

It can be a challenge to get your hand to the back side of the cover to unclip the clips at the top and bottom. Just make sure the clips on the cover are in the proper orientation when you reinstall the cover.

It helps to have a skinny arm, like a 10 year old skinny kid. Since I don't have any 10 year olds around I usually have to hose down my right arm with WD-40 so I can force my arm into the area necessary to get my hand on the clamps. I guess you could use soapy water but I had Wd-40 right there and ready to go.

My arms are sorta fat. I remove the oil filter (very little mess) and it gives me the necessary room to reach around and release the clips.

When changing the oil and oil filter is the best time to replace/check the air filter, otherwise it is a PITA, as others have said.

Thanks again, I'm sure it'll go OK now. Still need to find that darn flux capacitor. I'm sharpening my hedge clippers and when I find it , it's gone. TKS
