bead blast front AL hubs?
my front hubs are a mess... any reason not to blast them (outside only of course) ? do they have/need a protective finish?

I got totally carried away one weekend and polished mine. Actually they're easy to keep clean now and if you get your head at just the right angle you can see them through the Fuchs.

Soda blast them. It is not aggressive, can hose it down when clean and it won't open the pores of the aluminum (as some other media would).

I glassbeaded mine. Two years later and they still look great - nothing like clean, bare aluminum. Just be sure to thoroughly wash before the new bearings go in (but you know that
 ).
