Amazing!

All traced back to Lucy according to Dr. Leaky.

Grind the front of the M12/12 socket flush so that it goes in deeper and has a bite to it with sharper edges!

I have been reading Cubby's posts about his bolt issue. I just sat back and chuckled at this guys work! He sounds like a suit and tie type guy trying to be a car repair man. His car will end up in some garage being fix by a pro. Pompous A**

Porsche_monkey 06-18-2008 07:59 AM

Yes, Cubby deserves to be shot for trying to fix his own car. Only a pompous ass would try that.

Zeke 06-18-2008 08:03 AM

HottRod, I guess you missed the part where he got it out. And, it looks clean.

Anyway and whatever. I guess you know that we usually welcome a new poster cordially when he/she post pics of their car. How 'bout it?

Hey - I resemble that remark - all the way to ... repair man.

I think you are on the wrong site if that's your stance.

Speaking of being a pompous a**, who died and appointed you king? And with one post yet.

Cubby deserves all the credit in the world for taking on the project and successfully completing it. You should be applauding him. If you want to see a pompous a**, take a look in the mirror.

LOL - too funny. Nice first impression too. He's actually right about the "suit and tie" part (more or less). But isn't that true for a lot of us here? That's the beauty of this community - average joes like me who have the desire and enthusiasm to "do it themselves" can find the guidance they need to make it happen.

Who is a POMPUS A**? Bye

HottRod 06-18-2008 09:58 AM

Come on guys! Cubby drilled the hole, broke off the extractor, Used a Dremel tool to grind out the tool and then broke off the drill bit. He should be polishing his toe nails with the Dremel. I don't think I would be posting this type of craftsmanship!
Go back to the office and keep your day job.

Porsche_monkey 06-18-2008 10:02 AM

Let's have a poll to decide which of you two should stay and which should go.

I'll put my money on the guy that tried and ultimately succeeded over the guy with ZERO credibility who sits back and snipes.

HottRod: Perhaps you could establish your credentials for us. Experience, education, etc.

gsmith660 06-18-2008 11:12 AM

+1 -Nottrod I dont think you will be getting much help in this forum 2 posts and you blasting a DIYer with both of them show us your work! Have you done any?

Juvenile but funny. ;)

Congrats Cubby!

I wear a coat and tie whenever forced to do so. I recall wearing a suit once too - ex-gf made me do it.

And, yes, let me echo PBHs query to you -- the guy who thinks of himself as a hott rod. Tell us more about yourself...

gsmith660 06-18-2008 11:17 AM

Thanks I try :D

The guy on the right is named Rod - the guy on the left thinks he's hot...

No, you come on. Yep, he pulled a series of rookie mistakes and gosh, ya always hate to see it... Big deal. Every DIY guy out there has pulled his load of rookie mistakes. Doesn't mean he's a pompous ass. When I got my first 911 I got the shakes at the thought of changing the oil. Now I'm building my own cars. I'm wearing a tie right now, doesn't mean I have to be a checkbook mechanic.

Don't start on "leave it to the pros". I know of a certified wrench that just filled a TDI engine with ATF, the pros pull their share of boners, too. If you just joined the forum to ***** in everyone's Cheerios, maybe you better head over to the Viper forum to make yourself feel superior.

Pkaaso 06-18-2008 11:55 AM

No offense but, quit while your ahead.

Start calling machine shops and find the nearest one that will do what you need. Well worth the money at this point. Make sure and tell them you have a broken bit.

You are heading down a dark road.

Spelling aside, perhaps HottRod is an excellent and knowledgeable mechanic. Perhaps we'd all be missing something if he were to depart this forum with a total of two posts. Maybe he is a factory expert that spends his time repairing do-it-yourself disasters.

In all seriousness, post some details to justify your attitude. I'll be the first to apologize should you prove to be anything close to useful.

HottRod 06-18-2008 02:06 PM

Ha! Ha! You guys are funny 2 gay cowboys in the above post! Well the cowboy on the right is the knob who posted it and on the left is definitely Cubby! What happens on the honeymoon is your guess. Maybe removing a bolt from a tight spot.
