How to charge with Duracool
Did a search and seems that many have had decent results.
What do I need to buy to do this and how do I do it? Just buy the kit with the 2 cans and hose and plug it in somewhere in the AC system?

I'm not familiar with this particular product but I don't think I would charge a system without, at least, a gauge on the low side.
Can you get this stuff shipped to your door?

It works. I have used it for years in the 930.
And it is very easy to use, you can mix it with R12 w/o problems; just BE SURE you connect the hose to the LOW pressure end of the system (most of the time the compressor is marked IN or LOW). Yes, you can get it shipped to your door. |

Just to remind you that unless you find a very cooperative A/C shop, service and troubleshooting will be a strictly DIY project from this point forward. Most shops will be hesitant to contaminate their testing and recycling equipment with vehicles using these alternative refrigerants.
How will you check for system leaks, evacuate the system, observe system pressure during charging, etc.? It sounds like you're not too familiar with A/C system service. Brush up quite a bit before starting. If not, a "good-enough" job (aka half-ass) might suffice. You'll probably want to do better than this. Sherwood |

I ordered the cans directly from Duracool, I had the hardware from the R12 days, perfectly compatible and application is the same way. If you don't have the gages, just use one can first and run the system to see how much it cools - should be @50 - 55* or so. If not there, add another can, if not there check the system because something is really wrong with it... Be careful while doing all this, connect to the low pressure side of the compressor and use safety glasses.

Hi Sherwood, good point. I use my AC about a week out of the year here in the PNW
And being the very green PNW, R12 is a ***** to service. If this does not work then I will likely just rip the thing out and offer it to the track gods.
