Ouch! Seen a few of those (Honda 500cc GP bike) years ago. I hate that moment when you realize there's something seriously wrong. And then what it's going to cost you.

That'll buff right out? Not.

Was this on one of your rentals?

Yikes! Condolences.

Maybe I won't have Steve Wong raise the rev limit on my car when I have him chip it.

Here's my paper weight:

Not nearly as expense as the head, but not fun. After 2 sets of that deal, I sold the 914 and moved on. Poorly jetted Webers and 106 degrees at Willow don't mix.

(do ya dig the slide rules???)

Sooo. what was the cause? I noticed the 2 intake valves are gone vs. the 1 exhaust, so I'm gonna guess over-rev on downshift (floated the intake valves)?

Milt those are awesome... those are solar-powered as well (not worth a cuss in the dark). Do you remember how to use them, really?

all the new water cooled cars have 4 valve heads with a nice central plug location - that's one reason they make so much power
