Coil Question

I have a 84 Carrera with a stock 3.2
If I suspect an intermittent problem with my coil can I swap coils with a Ford coil?
Let me know.
thanks.

I put on a high perf coil on mine several yrs ago not a ford...but I would guess a 12 volt coil is a 12 volt.
the only issue I can guess are some (not Ford )run a ballast resistor.. which if needed would just make the coil over heat and melt dwn
So I think you are safe
