LM-1 Use for CIS

My engine has no O2 sensor or bung on the exhaust. Do I need either of these to use an LM-1 or other analyzer? Or can I stick the probe in the tailpipe? The car also has no cat.

I have never had the car smogged (not reqd). Would a shop use the tailpipe method?

I am facing the same dilemma myself. You will need an 02 sensor for the LM-1 to work. This comes with the LM-1. However, in order to get the 02 sensor into the exhaust stream, you either need to have the provided threaded bung plug welded into either your heat exhangers/headers or the intake to your muffler (do a search to find out methods that other Pelicans have used). The other solution is to either pony up $75 for the innovate exhaust clamp or fabricate some sort of exhaust extension yourself.
